Internships

Ashley completed a summer internship at Longleaf Studios in Jacksonville, Alabama. Longleaf Studios has won five Southeast Emmy Awards and has produced a series of documentaries for Alabama Public Television. During her time with Longleaf, Ashley worked on three projects as assistant producer: a commercial for Jacksonville State University’s new performing arts center, a documentary about the Alabama public trails system, and a documentary about Alabama's retirement system.

During her internship, Ashley gained experience with all aspects of a major film production. Location scouting, project research, equipment and media management, as well as set building. In addition to the logistical aspects of production, Ashley also set up lighting, sound, and camera gear such as sliders. She filmed interviews, various b-roll, and even starred in the documentary herself.
